Far too often pub games are filled with players who will instantly aggro if they think you're new to commanding, and they will stop playing "seriously" or work together as a team, and instead decide their sole mission is to rush the alien hive over and over again. I'd like to try to get this badge for no reason other than to convince teammates that I'm not a n00b commander. can people still get this badge? If so, is it possible to know how far along one is?

My question is on the commander badge: is this still attainable for people? The whole "managing and redeeming badges" section at the bottom of that URL is no longer relevant since the Hive statistics site is retired. One thing I've noticed is that a lot of other players have these badges next to their names on the scoreboard. It's as much fun now as it was 5 years ago when it first came out of beta. My skills are slowly improving and I've been jumping into the commander role more frequently after practicing a lot offline.
Prior to that I had played NS1 since 2003.
I've been playing NS2 again recently after a very long hiatus (like 4 years).
